Privacy Policy

RapidUtil is a set of free tools that run in your browser. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to your data when you use them.
The short version
- Your files and text are processed on your own device. They are not uploaded to RapidUtil.
- We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect your name or email address through the tools.
- The IP Lookup tool is the one exception: it contacts outside services to find your location (see below).
- The site shows ads from Google, which may use cookies and similar technology if you allow them.
Your files and text
The PDF, image, text and JSON tools do their work inside your web browser. When you open a PDF, choose an image, or paste text, it stays on your device. It isn't sent to our servers, we can't see it, and we don't keep a copy. Closing or refreshing the page clears it.
What the site stores on your device
RapidUtil itself saves two small things in your browser (in "local storage"). Neither is sent to us.
- Your theme choice (light or dark), so the site looks the way you left it.
- Your last IP Lookup result, kept for up to 24 hours so repeat visits load faster.
You can remove both at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
The IP Lookup tool
To show your public IP address and approximate location, the IP Lookup tool makes a request from your browser to outside services. Those services see your IP address, as any website you visit does, and return details such as your approximate city, region, country, time zone and internet provider. We use:
- freeipapi.com, for location and internet provider details
- BigDataCloud (api.bigdatacloud.net), to find your IP address
RapidUtil does not record the result. It is shown only to you, and the cached copy lives in your own browser. Each of these services has its own privacy policy, which you can read on its website. Other tools don't use these services.
Advertising
RapidUtil is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads on our pages. Ads never appear inside a tool's working area, and they are labelled as advertising.
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and your IP address to show ads, to personalise them based on your earlier visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform. This is handled by Google, and we don't receive personal information about you from it.
- Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Turn off personalised ads from Google at adssettings.google.com
- Opt out of personalised ads from other advertising companies at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.com
Hosting and server logs
RapidUtil is delivered through Cloudflare, which provides the hosting and content delivery network. When you visit, your request passes through Cloudflare's servers, which see your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site quickly, to block attacks and abuse, and to keep standard server logs. We don't use this to identify you. You can read how Cloudflare handles data in its privacy policy.
The site's fonts and icons are served from RapidUtil itself, so loading them doesn't send your details to any other company.
Analytics
To understand which tools are used and how fast pages load, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is designed to be privacy-friendly: it doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't build a profile of you.
We only see combined statistics, such as which pages are viewed, which sites visitors arrive from, the country they are in, their type of device and browser, and how quickly pages load. We never see what you put into a tool.
You can read more in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
RapidUtil is a general-purpose site and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Because the tools don't collect your files or personal details, there is very little data about you for us to hold. If you are in the UK or EEA, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to ask what is held, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. To exercise them, get in touch using the details below. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site works, for example by adding a new service, we will update this page and the date at the top.
