Your text never leaves your device
What does a text reverser and scrambler do?
Reversing puts text in the opposite order, whether that means every character, the words or the sentences. Scrambling puts it in a random order instead. Choose what to move, and the tool rearranges your text while keeping your line breaks and spacing. It works on anything from a single phrase to a long document.
Reversing Modes
Reverse characters
Flips the whole text back to front, so hello world becomes dlrow olleh. Emoji and accented letters stay in one piece.
Reverse word order
Puts the words in the opposite order, so hello world from RapidUtil becomes RapidUtil from world hello. The words themselves are not changed.
Reverse sentences
Detects where sentences end, including after abbreviations like Dr. and e.g., and reverses their order. Line breaks stay between the same sentences.
Reverse letters in words
Flips each word on its own and keeps the word order, so hello world becomes olleh dlrow.
Scrambling Modes
Scramble characters
Shuffles the letters at random. Spaces and line breaks stay where they are. Choose to keep letters inside their own word, and to keep each word's first and last letter for text that is still readable.
Scramble words
Puts the words in a random order and leaves the spacing as it was.
Scramble sentences
Shuffles whole sentences. Useful for sorting exercises and for testing how a text reads out of order.
Scramble lines
Randomises the order of lines, which is handy for lists, logs and quiz answers. Blank lines stay where they are.
Scramble paragraphs
Shuffles blocks of text separated by blank lines. Press the button again for a new random order each time.
Your Text Stays on Your Device
Everything on this page runs in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, logged or stored, which makes it safe for drafts, lists, logs and anything else you'd rather keep to yourself. It's also instant, because there's no server to wait for. It's also fast, because there's no waiting on a server, and it keeps working even if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Common Uses
Developers
Create test data, check how code handles reversed or mixed-up input, and randomise the order of lists or log lines.
Students
Build sentence-ordering exercises, practise spotting patterns, or check whether a text still makes sense when reordered.
Writers
Read a draft backwards, sentence by sentence, to catch typos and awkward phrasing that your eyes skip when reading normally.
Puzzles and games
Make word scrambles, anagram-style puzzles, riddles and mirror messages to share with friends.
Light obfuscation
Mix up text so it can't be read at a glance, for example in screenshots or examples. This hides text casually and is not a substitute for encryption or proper anonymisation.
Lists and logs
Shuffle names for a draw, a running order or a quiz, or reverse a list to read the newest line first.
Works on Mobile and Desktop
The tool works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. On a large screen your text and the result sit side by side. On a phone they stack, and every button is sized for touch.
