What Is SVG, and Why Convert It to PNG?

SVG is a vector image format. Instead of pixels, it stores shapes, paths and text, so it stays sharp at any size. That makes it ideal for logos and icons, but many apps, social networks, email tools and document editors still can't use an SVG file. Converting SVG to PNG gives you a regular image that works almost everywhere, at exactly the resolution you choose.

How the Converter Works

Your browser already knows how to draw SVG. The tool renders each file at the size you pick, onto a transparent or coloured canvas, and saves the result as a PNG. No extra software is downloaded.

1. Add your SVG files

Drop them onto the upload area or choose them from your device. You can convert up to 20 SVG files at a time.

2. Pick a size and background

Choose 1x to 4x, and keep the background transparent or fill it with white or any colour. Then click Convert to PNG.

3. Download

Check the preview and the PNG dimensions, then download each PNG or all of them at once.

Convert SVG to PNG Without Uploading

Everything happens in your browser. Your SVG files are read and converted on your own device, so they are never uploaded, logged or stored on a server. That matters for logos, unreleased designs, client work and anything else you wouldn't want to send to a stranger's website. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

Supported SVG Features

Shapes and paths

Rectangles, circles, lines, polygons and complex paths, including gradients, opacity, clipping and masks, are drawn exactly as your browser shows them.

Text

SVG text is rendered with fonts already on your device. Custom web fonts don't load inside converted images, so convert text to outlines first if the exact typeface matters.

Transparency

Empty areas of the SVG stay transparent in the PNG unless you choose a background colour.

Works on Mobile and Desktop

The tool works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. On a phone you can pick SVG files straight from your files, and on a computer you can drag several SVG files onto the upload area at once. Every current browser can draw SVG, so the converter works the same everywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert SVG to PNG?
Add your SVG files, choose a size and background, click Convert to PNG, then download the results. Most files convert in a fraction of a second.
Are my SVG files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your own device. Your files are never uploaded, logged or stored, so it is safe to use with logos, designs and other private work.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
Yes, by default. Any area of the SVG that is empty stays transparent. If you need a solid background, choose White or Custom before converting.
How do I get a higher-resolution PNG?
Choose 2x, 3x or 4x. SVG is a vector format, so it is redrawn at the larger size and stays sharp instead of being stretched. The PNG dimensions are shown next to the original size.
Why do some images or fonts look different?
The SVG is drawn as a standalone image, so scripts, animations and anything it loads from the web, such as linked images or web fonts, are not included. Embed images inside the SVG and convert text to outlines for the most accurate result.
My SVG has no width or height. What size will the PNG be?
The tool uses the viewBox when there is one, and falls back to 300 × 150 pixels otherwise. Pick a larger size to get more pixels.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in your mobile browser with nothing to install, and the buttons are sized for touch. Very large PNGs may be scaled down on iPhones and iPads, and the tool tells you if that happens.
