Text Diff Checker – Compare Two Texts
Compare two versions of a text and instantly highlight what changed.
Paste the original and the changed text, and see added and removed words side by side. This free text diff checker works entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste is uploaded.

What is a text diff checker?
A text diff checker compares two versions of a piece of text and shows exactly what was added and what was removed. It's handy for reviewing edits to a document, checking what changed between two drafts, comparing copies of code or configuration, and spotting small differences that are easy to miss by eye.
How to Compare Two Texts
Add the original text
Paste your starting version into the left panel. This is the reference the other text is compared against.
Add the changed text
Paste the updated version into the right panel. You can also use Load Files to bring in text files instead of pasting.
Compare the two
Click Find Differences. Added words are highlighted in green and removed words in red in the result below.
Comparison Options Explained
Ignore Whitespace
Skips differences in spaces, tabs and line breaks, so only changes to the words themselves are shown. Turn it off to see formatting changes too.
Ignore Case
Treats upper and lower case as the same, so "Hello" and "hello" are not flagged as a change. It's off by default.
Load Files
Reads text files from your device straight into the panels. Pick one file for the original text, or two to fill both sides at once. Plain text and Markdown files work best.
Your Text Stays on Your Device
The comparison runs in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, logged or stored, which makes it safe for drafts, contracts and anything else you'd rather keep to yourself. It's also fast, because there's no waiting on a server.
